Charles Thompson scored 20 points on Thursday night as Towson defeated Northeastern 72-63.
Thompson added 7 rebounds for the Tigers (15-7, 7-2 Colonial Athletic Association). Nicolas Timberlake went 13-for-4 (3 points he is 5-for-3 from range) and 4-for-3 from the free-throw line with 14 points. Cameron Holden tallied his 13 points, going 5-17 (three points he was 1-3 from range) and 3-2 from the free-throw line.
Coleman Stakke finished with 19 points (8-12, 4-5) for the Huskies. Jahmyl Telfort added his 18 points to Northeastern. Additionally, Chris Dougherty finished with 12 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Both teams will play again on Saturday. Towson hosts the Northeastern Trip with William & Mary and plays Delaware.
