Nightlife directors are popping up all over the world, with cities like London and Amsterdam hiring so-called ‘midnight emperors’ to improve their social scenes.
Last year, Boston’s chief of economic opportunity and inclusion, Segun Idowu, said: Said the city intended Hire your own late-night tour dedicated to increasing the vibrancy, inclusivity and accessibility of Boston’s social scene.
A spokesperson for Idowu’s office confirmed this week that someone formally called the Director of Strategic Initiatives had been hired for the job. We talked to local business owners about what new hires should try and achieve.
