Shepard added 10 rebounds for the Bruins (16-6, 9-2 Missouri Valley Conference). Ja’Kobi Gillespie scored his 18 points and added 6 assists. The Bruins extended their winning streak to seven games.
The Purple Aces (4-18, 0-11) were led by Yacine Toumi, who had 15 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Evansville also scored him 15 points from Marvin Coleman. Additionally, Antoine Smith Jr. had 14 points and nine rebounds. The loss was his ninth straight loss to the Purple Aces.
