The Steamship Authority (SSA) has issued a travel advisory to passengers planning to board ferries on Thursday.
“The National Weather Service is forecasting strong winds for Thursday, January 26, and cancellations are possible at various points in the day on both the Vineyard and Nantucket routes. If so, please continue to check our website for updates.Thursday travel change and cancellation fees will be waived due to forecast,” reads the advisory.
Gusts of up to 45 to 50 mph can occur in the Martha’s Vineyard area, according to a National Weather Service map shared by SSA on Facebook.
According to the advisory, changes or modifications to reservations can be made on the SSA website by calling the SSA Reservations Office at 508-477-8600 or by visiting one of the terminals. Future updates will be posted on SSA’s website and social media pages.
