Snowfall disrupted travel across Berks County late Wednesday morning through mid-afternoon. Heavy snowfall, which could exceed an inch in an hour, caused several car accidents and closed many local roads.
As temperatures rise later in the day, the snow turns into a winter mixture and then regular rain.
The National Weather Service recorded the following total snowfall for Berks County.
Hufs Church 4.0″, Spring Township 4.0″, Ollie 3.5″, Warnersville 3.0″, Fleetwood 3.0″, Bern Township 3.0″, Merztown 2.5″, Brandon 2.1″, Sinking Spring 2.0″, Exeter Township 2.0″, Hamburg 2.0″, Union Township 1.8″, Merztown 1.5″, Reading 1.5″, Mooseville 1.5″, Shillington 1.0″, Caernarvon Township 0.8″.
