The Alpine and Nordic Para World Ski Championships are well underway in the host cities of Östersund (SWE) and Espot (ESP).
At Espot, the weather served as a spoiler for the first three days of action. An athlete’s patience was tested as he waited to ride the slopes of his event for the first gold medal.
But once the skies clear, the best conditions await the riders, with two full medal days already in place in the Super-G and Alpine Combined. The athlete competes in three categories: sitting, standing and visually impaired.
The action continues in Spain until the end of the weekend.
In Östersund, everything is running on schedule as the Swedish venue offers conditions that range from crunchy cold to sub-zero temperatures, forcing athletes to pull out every stop to win a medal. .
So far, cross-country medals have been awarded in the 18km classic and the fan-favorite sprint event.
As with Espot, the action at Oestersund continues into the weekend, with a biathlon race on the schedule.
