Bryan, Texas (KBTX) – Joe Ferreri, a World War II veteran and longtime Bryan resident and builder, has died at the age of 103.
His daughter shared the news on Facebook Monday morning.
Ferreri built a skyscraper in Bryan College Station in 1980. It was the pinnacle of his career at the time, he tells KBTX.
The hotel’s doors closed in 2010 after facing financial problems. The building was demolished in 2012.
KBTX also spoke with him after he visited the National World War II Museum in New Orleans several years ago.
This October, Ferreri celebrated his 103rd birthday with friends, family and loved ones. On that day, he received a proclamation from Mayor Bryan, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and U.S. foreign war veterans.
No word on when or where the service will take place.
