Proponents of Pine Tree Power go around claiming that if they voted in a $10 billion or more experiment to put electricity in the hands of politicians, they would get their electricity bills significantly lower. That’s quite an election promise. How do you promise low interest rates with billions of dollars in debt?
Also, Pine Tree Power can’t do anything about the cost of your power supply. It is based on natural gas prices controlled by fossil fuel companies. They negotiate with the Main Utilities Commission, not the power company.
I think it should come as no surprise that the pine tree power rhetoric is intentionally misleading. Politicians do that whenever they want to sell us overly optimistic propaganda.
