(ABC 6 News) – Player from Sioux City, Iowa joins Team USA to help represent USA and Iowa special olympic world games in Berlin, Germany in June of this year.
Mitchell Bettsworth is part of a delegation of over 200 people from 46 states competing in this summer’s games.Represented by Bettsworth Special Olympics Iowa in powerlifting. He has been involved with Special His Olympics for the past 15 years, including winning Special Olympics his Iowa Male Athlete of the Year Award in 2016.
Bettsworth has competed in the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Special Olympics USA Games. He is the only Iowan headed to the Special Olympics World Games this summer.
The Special Olympics World Games will be held in Berlin, Germany from June 17-25.
