Georgia wide receiver Rodarius Thomas was arrested early Monday morning on a felony charge of wrongful imprisonment and misdemeanor battery family violence, according to Athens Clark County Jail officials, according to ESPN.
According to Athens Clark County Jail records, Thomas was booked by the University of Georgia police around 4:04 am on Monday and was being held without bail. The details of the incident were not immediately known.
Additionally, it wasn’t immediately clear if Thomas had a lawyer who could speak for him.
A 6-foot-1-inch, 192-pound growing junior from Eufaula, Alabama, Thomas moved from Mississippi in December 2022 and has 44 receptions for 626 yards in 12 games played in 2022. , led the team with seven touchdowns.
The 20-year-old has 62 passes for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns in his last two seasons at Mississippi State.
Thomas is an important player for Georgia, who are aiming for a third consecutive title next season.
