A week after her visit to Kyiv, Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will travel to Cleveland, Ohio and Palma, Ohio on January 24 to engage with Ohioans and the Ukrainian diaspora community and discuss U.S. support for Ukraine. Deputy Sherman will join Gov. Mike DeWine and other state and local officials in Palma for a roundtable discussion with Ukrainian refugees and members of the Diaspora. The deputy secretary will also deliver a speech at Cleveland’s City Club on continued support for Ukraine.
During his time in Cleveland, Deputy Sherman will visit Case Western Reserve University, interact with students on foreign policy issues, and participate in discussions about career opportunities in foreign policy. The Deputy Secretary will also meet with students, faculty, and staff who are alumni of the State Department’s interpersonal diplomacy programs, including graduates of the Fulbright Program, the Benjamin Gilman Scholarship, and the Critical Her Language He Scholar.
