This year’s World Junior Championships were for the books. Held at Seaside Reef in San Diego, California, the juniors were treated to one of the best and biggest swells California has received in years. With light offshore winds and solid sized waves, the conditions for the event were perfect, bringing together some of the best young surfers in the world to battle it out for the world title and his 2023 Challenger spot in his series.
Junior did not disappoint. They displayed impressive surfing and were rewarded with multiple excellent scores. On the men’s side, Levi Slawson and Jarvis Earle made it to the final, with Earle ultimately winning. On the women’s side, Sawyer Lindblad and Francisca Veselko went head to head in the final. Ultimately, Veselko won the title.
