San Antonio – Alicia Garcia’s trip to visit family in San Antonio took more than 12 hours on Wednesday after a series of flight delays due to problems with the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) computer systems.
“It’s been a long, long day. I’m ready to go home,” said Garcia.
She was sitting on the plane when she heard the news.
“Suddenly they said the plane was grounded. ‘Everyone get off.’
AAA’s Daniel Armbruster said the latest problems came as air travel was reviving following the pandemic’s slowdown.
“We are seeing travel bookings exceeding pre-pandemic levels,” he said.
Armbruster said passengers should consider using a travel agent on their next trip.
He said travelers should consider travel insurance when going on big vacations.
“If this is a big investment in travel, think about it. Read the policies. Ask trip advisor about the different options and see what’s available,” said Armbruster. .
