This month, AirlineRatings.com announced the safest airlines of 2023. The study looked at 385 airlines that are at the forefront of safety, innovation and new aircraft launches.
According to a press release, the study analyzed the following to determine the safest airlines in 2023:
- 5+ year crash
- Serious incident over 2 years
- Audits from aviation governing bodies and major associations
- fleet age
- Professional analysis of pilot training
- COVID protocol
Note that while Alaska Airlines was the only US airline in the top 10, Hawaiian Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines made the top 20.
