Canton, New York (WWNY) – St. Lawrence County has extended the Saturday travel ban until 8 p.m. Saturday, when a re-evaluation will take place, according to Matthew Denner, director of St. Lawrence County Emergency Services.
Denner said some roads have 4- to 6-foot snowdrifts, so UTVs should be used to rescue stranded drivers.
Some communities have a fire station from which drivers travel and food is delivered to the fire station.
Denner said the town’s cultivator crew returned home last night for a mandatory rest period (they can only drive for a very long time).
Denner says he is home. Some roads are simply impassable.
