Washington, March 2, 2022—The World Bank Group today issued the following statement on its programs in Russia and Belarus:
“The World Bank Group has not approved any new loans or investments in Russia since 2014, nor has it approved any new loans to Belarus since mid-2020.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and hostilities against the Ukrainian people, the World Bank Group immediately suspended all programs in Russia and Belarus. ”
