Major banks stop cashing California’s IOUs.

Three major banks, Wells Fargo , JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America have stopped accepting California’s IOU’s on Friday last . Some 60 credit unions, however, continue to accept the registered warrants.

The State of California has issued more than 90,000 IOU’s worth nearly $355 million since July 2 in order to conserve cash until state officials reach a deal on the State’s budget.
